Overview:
After the success of last year’s SXSW event, Bakery kept the energy alive with a new twist, this time bringing Japanese sumo wrestling to the stage for East by Eastside: Banzai! The event mixed over-the-top entertainment with a playful nod to Austin’s festival culture, while also embracing the traditions of sumo wrestling itself. From the atmosphere to the details, we aimed to stay true to the sport’s origins and celebrate its authenticity in a way that connected with the local crowd.

Challenge/Execution:
I created all of the event’s illustrations, which set the tone for the overall art direction. These visuals carried through signage, merch, social media posts, and promotional materials, giving the event a bold, unified look.
